What is The Valley Altar?

As a ‘wedding venue’ The Valley Altar is for couples looking for an alternative approach to traditional, far more expensive wedding celebrations - and to have just their VVIP’s in attendance. 

The Valley Altar is a creatively styled and carefully curated warehouse space, that's packed-full of personality and popping with good vibes. It’s not just a pretty face though; VA is brought to you by Janda Events and so comes from a team that has yeeeaars of wedding experience. 

The Valley Altar has ready-made, all-inclusive elopement and micro wedding packages… or you can choose your own adventure and build your own. The core aim is to simply make your day fast, fun, and photogenic af. All killer - No filler.

What is the difference between a legals only, elopement and micro wedding?

A Legals Only service is just as it sounds. That’s you two doing just what’s legally-required to be legally wed. You can do this in-house at VA (so it’ll still look rad), or… we can come to your place. 

Elopements, generally include a few more of the traditional ceremony elements, but still with just you two and a couple of witnesses. Perfect for couples wanting a private, yet still romantic and intimate ceremony.

Micro Weddings are for couples who want to keep their circle small, but not quite as ‘exclusive’ a guest list as the elopement. It’s usually close family and friends, and a ceremony loaded with feels. (these are my personal fave)

Where are we located?

You can find us located on the southern end of the sunny Gold Coast. We are nestled in the bustling industrial estate in Currumbin Waters 3mins from Currumbin Beach and 5min from the glorious Currumbin Valley. We back on to Balter Brewery and are surrounded by fabulous businesses like Dust Temple, Little Vine Room, Tarte & Tommy’s to name a few. There’s no shortage of amazing places to go to after your wedding.

What do your packages include?

Essentially, our packages can include as little or as much as you want. We’ve done our best to create a range of ready-made packages with varying levels of inclusions. These range from super basic (we call that You’ve Got The Love)... right through to all-inclusive packages that include celebrant, photographer, videographer, live music, confetti cannons and more (that one’s called ‘Crazy In Love’).

We’re also super happy to share with you a list of frequently included options, as well as a list of some of our fave suppliers, so that you can build your own perfect package!

Can I extend my celebration?

We never say never. But… The Valley Altar is designed with short and punchy celebrations in mind. We want to condense the good times, not dilute them. Ideally, you would make the most of our fun and photogenic space as if it’s a super-charged ceremony & cocktail hour, then take your peeps to dinner, or kick-on with the crew elsewhere.

Is it BYO?

It can be. At The Valley Altar you have the option to provide your own drinks, or we can arrange a drinks package for you. We're all about flexibility, and ensuring your day’s vision - and budget - is kept intact.

Can we bring our own celebrant?

Absolutely! If ours - that’s myself & my husband Jake - aren’t available, we're more than happy for you to bring your own ‘maker of married people’.

What happens if Jake or Lei are sick on the day of our wedding?

In the unlikely event that Jake or Lei are unavailable on your wedding day (it hasn't happened yet *touch wood*), don't worry. We have an extensive network of wedding professionals who will ensure your day remains epic and memorable. In other words, chill, we won't leave you hanging.

Can the bride and groom chill privately before the ceremony?

Of course! The Valley Altar has an air-conditioned, private, upstairs mezzanine space where (if you wish) you can get ready, or simply take a moment to relax and breathe before the ceremony.

Can I have the ceremony in any of the areas at VA?

Sure can - if you book The Valley Altar, The Valley Altar is your oyster! We definitely have a couple of 'suggested' ceremony backdrops, but you are absolutely free to tweak the orientation to your heart’s content - and take your pick from any spot within our versatile little space.

Is it a wedding only space?

Oh hell no - VA ain’t no one-trick pony! The Valley Altar isn't just for weddings. We also rent out our space for events, and it's available to photographers for styled branding and fashion shoots.
